Wolves and moose drew me in more than any others — powerful, untamed creatures that once roamed freely across Colorado before fear and profit nearly erased them. I’ve often thought about how our own history with these animals is tangled with mistakes: relentless hunting, trapping, and poisoning that pushed wolves to the brink.
